Study & Teaching

In addition to research, the CBL is also active in the areas of teaching and teaching development. On one hand, degree programs in the fields of biodiversity and sustainable land use are organized and administered at the CBL. On the other hand, our staff actively participates in teaching. We are committed to interdisciplinary teaching development on the topics of sustainability and education for sustainable development. We support the qualitative improvement of theory and practice through networking, in close collaboration with the Green Office, the Department of Study and Teaching, and intensive cooperation with students.

Study programmes with CBL themes

The CBL supports cross-faculty teaching activities in the biodiversity degree programmes offered in the Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral degree programmes of the Faculty of Biology and Psychology. Sustainable land use can also be studied in a variety of ways in German and English-taught study programmes in agriculture, forestry and geosciences.

Teaching sustainability

The CBL supports the visibility of sustainability research and teaching at the University of Goettingen by offering sustainability modules and itself offers cross-facultatively. We work in close collaboration with lecturers, the Green Office and the student and academic services. The CBL is also networking with other universities.

Nature Positive Universities

In December 2022, the University of Goettingen joined the Nature Positive Universities network. We support campus biodiversity monitoring and measures for biodiversity enrichment.
