Compliance

The University of Göttingen's compliance system provides the organisational and legal framework for responsible, transparent and lawful conduct in all areas of research, teaching and administration.

All members of the University – employees, teaching staff and students – share responsibility for a culture of integrity and compliance.
It combines compliance with legal requirements with ethical principles and university guidelines and rules in order to promote integrity and trust.

Key components include, for example, the protection of personal data in accordance with data protection laws, the prevention of corruption, the preservation of scientific integrity and good scientific practice, the proper execution of award and procurement procedures, the implementation of a secure whistleblower system, etc.
For the University of Göttingen, compliance means not only adhering to regulations, but also consciously dealing with responsibility. A functioning compliance system protects against legal, financial and reputational risks, strengthens the trust of students, employees and external partners, and provides guidance in an increasingly complex legal environment.
