THE CHAIR OF
BUSINESS EDUCATION AND DIGITAL VOCATIONAL LEARNING

Diagnosing and fostering professional competencies effectively. This is achieved in high-quality and digitally supported learning and examination settings in vocational schools, workplaces, or universities.

With this in mind, the research group of the chair teaches and conducts research in various interconnected research areas:

Digital learning and examination environments (simulations and XR)

Competency diagnostics

Training quality in vocational education

Training dropouts in the context of the dual system

The aim of the project is to develop an app that continuously monitors the quality of training and is designed to help prevent trainees from dropping out.

GAIA

GAIA

As a department, we have been involved in the application for the GAIA (Generative Artificial Intelligence Agents) project in collaboration with the Vice-Presidency and many other departments (Department of Digital Teaching, Accessible Learning, Equal Opportunities). We are delighted that this major project aimed at further developing teaching at our university – funded with around 6 million euros by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education – can now get underway.

PISA-VET

PISA-VET

Viola Deutscher contributes to two international expert panels of the OECD. In the areas of "Business and Administration" and "Background Questionnaires," researchers support the OECD in developing PISA-VET, an international survey of apprentices' skills.

MARS-IE

MARS-IE

MARS-IE is developing a training program for teaching reflection using video holograms, enabling students to analyze their teaching practices with the help of mixed-reality holograms.

LUCA

LUCA

The PSA-SIM project is developing the virtual teaching and learning platform LUCA for commercial education and training, which focuses on individualized support and automated diagnostics.

INTERCONNECT

INTERCONNECT

The goal of the Interconnect project is to develop fair exam tasks and identify success factors for competence and identity development.

VILD

VILD

Through VILD, future teachers develop digital competencies for the classroom of the future. The workshops offer virtual and AI-based learning opportunities for students.
