Proof of adequate proficiency in English
Applicants whose mother tongue is not English must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. Proof of adequate proficiency in English must be provided in the form of standardised or accredited certificates. These should be at least at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe (CEFR):
a) UNIcert®: at least UNIcert® III certificate;
b) NULTE certificates: minimum level C1;
c) Cambridge English Scale: at least 180 points;
d) "International English Language Testing System" (IELTS Academic): at least Band 6.5;
e) "Test of English as a Foreign Language, internet-based test" (TOEFL iBT): at least 93 points;
(f) Global Scale of English (Pearson Academic ): at least 76 points.
Successful completion of a test (a-f) must not be more than two years prior to the date of your application for admission.
Applicants who have spent at least one year studying or working in an English-speaking country are exempt from these requirements. Moreover, the exemption applies to applicants who have successfully completed a course of study of at least two years in the English language (proof required) as well.
Proof of adequate proficiency in the English language must be provided to the Faculty of Philosophy by 30.09. when enrolling for a winter semester and by 31.03. when enrolling for a summer semester; this proof is a prerequisite for enrolment; conditional enrolment does not take place.
