DAAD General Assembly re-elects Göttingen University’s Professor Casper-Hehne
Professor Hiltraud Casper-Hehne, University of Göttingen, has been elected to the Executive Committee of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for the third time. The DAAD General Assembly confirmed this with a large majority on 20 June 2023. Her third term will begin on 1 January 2024, and it will last four years. The DAAD is the world's largest funding organization of international exchange for students and researchers.
Casper-Hehne holds the Chair of Intercultural German Studies at the University of Göttingen. She was Vice-President for Internationalization at the University of Göttingen for twelve years. Now she coordinates and is the Göttingen lead for the European University Enlight, a network of nine research-oriented European universities. To date, the Network has received five million euros in funding from the European Union and an additional one million euros from DAAD as national funding. Casper-Hehne also oversees the German-Japanese network HeKKSaGOn at the University of Göttingen, which includes the universities of Göttingen, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Kyoto, Sendai and Osaka.
