Press release: Alumni Day: Alumna Xiaoqun Clever talks about leadership in digital change

Meeting of alumni on 26 October 2019 with lectures, guided tours and festivities

Reunion with old friends and companions: The University of Göttingen and Alumni Göttingen e.V. invite former members of the University to this year's Alumni Day on Saturday, 26 October 2019. During campus tours, the guests will learn what it means to study and research at Göttingen University today. Guided tours will present the University's Art Collection and Cast Collection of Antique Sculptures; lectures and workshops will deal, for example, with agricultural engineering, language, the rule of law and leadership. Several faculties hold silver and gold diploma celebrations as well as other anniversaries. In addition, several specific alumni networks meet.

Keynote speaker at the evening event will be Alumna Xiaoqun Clever. She will speak on the topic of "Leadership in Digital Change". She is a technology and data specialist recognised throughout Europe who has set important impulses for digital transformation, big data and artificial intelligence. She was the first woman in Germany to hold a position of chief technology officer and the first Chinese woman to be appointed to the board of a European corporation. Before her talk, the Universitätsbund Göttingen e.V. will award its dissertation prize, which is sponsored by the AKB Foundation. The event will be followed by a dinner buffet. The Alumni weekend ends with a brunch on Sunday, 27 October.
