Digital data integration

PI: Prof. Alexander Knohl

In the project Digital Forest project, we have generated large datasets that require efficient structuring, processing, and analysis.

  • Data collection: Data from various sensors were continuously collected and stored in a database. This includes, for example, measurements of soil moisture, air temperature, and stem diameter.
  • Data analysis: We used modern analysis methods, to derive information about the condition and processes of the forest from data. For example, the productivity of the forest was estimated using satellite data and methods of artificial intelligence.
  • Visualization: The data was visualized in a web-based application so that changes in the forest condition could be easily recognized.
