What are the “MUST Do’s” immediately after my arrival at Goettingen?

Make some temporary arrangements for food (bread/maggi/MTR ready to eats/etc) especially if you are arriving on Sundays or bank holidays.
Open a bank account.
Register for health insurance. Take help from the secretary of your professor.
There are two different cases. (Stipend Holders and Work contract holders)

- Work contract: There is no other option than taking up a TK insurance. So all you need is to go to their office at Burgerstrasse 42 with your work contract.

- Stipend: You have to opt for a private insurance. We would suggest you to take up Mawista Insurance. They have a cheap and reliable insurance for stipend holders. If you go for this insurance, all you need to do is to fill an online application form.
