The Student Information Platform (IPS2) is a customisable, interactive online tool that brings together all the key systems related to your studies (including FlexNow, Stud.IP and UniVZ), allowing you to conveniently plan your current semester and future academic path.

To further develop your individual profile, you will undertake modules focusing on key competences as part of your degree programme. You can find information on this, as well as the range of interdisciplinary modules available from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the University in general, here. If you need advice on key competences or have questions regarding credit transfer, you can find the relevant contact persons here.



The Göttingen Studentenwerk is responsible for administering BAföG as a form of student finance and provides all the key information here.

The necessary certificates of entitlement can be generated in FlexNow and then attached to the application. In exceptional cases, BAföG recipients in the Faculty of Social Sciences should please contact Annegret Schallmann.

  • Subject-specific academic advising / recognition officers
    The subject-specific academic advisers can provide you with information on issues relating to your degree programme. You should also contact them if you have any questions regarding the recognition of subject-specific course credits.
  • Methodology Advice
    The staff at the Methodology Centre will answer your questions regarding quantitative and qualitative social research.
  • Examinations Office
    The staff at the Examinations Office can provide you with information on examination regulations and procedures, on forms, academic records and any issues with FlexNow.
