Screening & Discussion: "The World Before Her"

On Thursday, 15 Nov. 2012, the local art house cinema Lumière in co-operation with CeMIS screened at 7:30 pm the international award winning documentary "The World Before Her" (2012). Director Nisha Pahuja contrasts two groups of young Indian women in her film: a boot camp for the Miss India pageant in Bombay and the annual meeting of the Hindu fundamentalist women's organisation "Durgha Vahini". Nisha Pahuja was present at Lumière for a discussion after the screening. The event was part of the "Days of India" at Göttingen University on 14 & 15 Nov. 2012.
