Pollination function and service in a rainforest transformation landscape in Sumatra, Indonesia
I am interested in approaching agroecology through a lens of landscape and spatial ecology and applying ecological knowledge to support people as part of the landscape’s ecosystem. Working with Prof. Dr. Teja Tscharntke, Dr. Ingo Grass, and Prof. Dr. Kerstin Wiegand, I will examine the effects of land transformation on the pollinator community and pollination services at the landscape, farm, and tree scale in the tropical lowland rainforest transformation landscape in Jambi Province of Sumatra, Indonesia.
My work is part of the sub-project “Aboveground biodiversity patterns and processes across rainforest transformation landscapes” in the Collaborative Research Centre 990: Ecological and Socioeconomic Functions of Tropical Lowland Rainforest Transformation Systems (Sumatra, Indonesia). My counterpart advisors in Indonesia are Prof. Dr. Damayanti Buchori and Dr. Rika Raffiudin at Bogor Agricultural University, and Dr. Fuad Nurdiansyah at the University of Jambi.
