1. Where will it be published?
    • Publication takes place via Göttingen Research Online Publications of the Göttingen State and University Library.
  2. What does publication mean?
    • Your thesis will be visible worldwide and can be viewed by a very large group of people. Your text can thus support other students, especially BA and MA students, in their scientific work. In particular, with regard to writing theses, your text can provide orientation: for example, on how to narrow down a thesis topic, how to pose an appropriate question and how to structure it meaningfully.
    • However, you will always be associated with what has been written. The publication will be archived and can be viewed at any later point in time.
    • Please also consider whether you would be comfortable with your thesis being found by future employers or journalists, for example, 10-15 years from now.
    • Once published, your thesis cannot be deleted.
  3. What do you have to do to publish?
    • You have to sign the declaration of consent.
    • You must remove your address, matriculation number and declaration of independence from your thesis.
    • Then send your thesis together with the declaration of consent to the Office of the Dean of Studies
  4. How long does the process take?
    • Once you have adapted your work to the layout, it only takes a few weeks to publish (a little longer during the holiday period).
  5. Are there any costs?
    • There are no costs for you, you just have to do some ‘paperwork’.
  6. Why are we doing this?
    • We want to promote the visibility of outstanding theses from the faculty and thereby show what exciting topics are being worked on at our faculty.
    • In addition, we want to enable other students to get a concrete idea of what a bachelor's or master's thesis might look like later on.
  7. Who are your contact persons?
    • You can contact the supervising professor who has assessed your work as worthy of publication.
