SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS
Childhood curiosities initiated and sustained by one simple question each one of us ask at some point in our lives – “What goes on in that head of yours?” – led me into the world of neuroscience. My interests primarily lie in cognitive neuroscience – to understand the physiological rationale behind the spectrum of behaviour we see around us. Currently, my curiosities are spread across the board – from sensory perceptions, to consolidation into memory (thus, learning), to finally, computations integrating acquired knowledge and internal states that invoke observable behaviour. In this line of questioning, I wish to investigate a topic that has held a special place in my mind –the neurological phenomenon of beauty i.e., neuroaesthetics.
