Doing a PhD at our institute

We are pleased that you are interested in doing a PhD at our institute. Vacant positions in research projects can be found in the job offers at the institute. If you come up with an exciting idea for a doctoral project on your own, please contact a university lecturer who is authorized to supervise doctoral candidates. To do so, find out who would be a good match for your doctoral project based on their research interests.

At our institute, the following persons are currently authorized to accept doctorates in the subject of Cultural Anthropology/European Ethnology:

Prof. Dr. Regina Bendix
Prof. Dr. Sabine Hess
PD Dr. Victoria Hegner

In your request, you should note and attach the following:
- a short description of your PhD project (150 - 100 words)
- a short curriculum vitae

Please make clear that your doctoral project is related to the research focus of the potential supervisor.
Please discuss the possibilities of financial support (e.g. doctoral scholarships or project positions) with your supervisor.
