Prof. Dr. Knut-Benjamin Pißler
Prof. Dr. Pißler studied law at the Bavarian Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg (1991-1993) and law and sinology at the University of Hamburg (1993-1996). In July 1995, he completed the Chinese language course of the Seminar for Chinese Language and Culture at the University of Hamburg, and in November 2007, he earned a Master of Arts degree. From November 1996 to September 1997, he was at Nanjing University for a language and research stay on a DAAD scholarship.
Prof. Dr. Knut-Benjamin Pißler passed the first and second state law examinations in Hamburg. From September 2000 to August 2002 he stayed at the German-Chinese Institute of Law at Nanjing University on a DAAD doctoral scholarship.
Since August 2002 he is a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law. In 2003 he did his PhD at the University of Hamburg. Since May 2017 he is professor at the University of Göttingen. Since October 2023, Prof. Pißler has taken over the position of DAAD long-term lecturer at Nanjing University.
