Information and additional development courses for various target groups in the field of diversity
The Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit designs and organises information events and continuing education programmes, often in cooperation with institutions and faculties.
These events are tailored to different target groups (teaching and teaching support staff, students, specialists and managers, employees). They may take the form of lectures, technical discussions, workshops and practical advice. All activities are formatted to the needs of the respective target groups and/or institutions. All training courses are continuously reviewed and further developed on the basis of evaluations.
Cooperation partners include the Section for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (“Hochschuldidaktik”), the central institutions and the Qualification Department of the HR and Organisation Development Section. Cooperations also exist with the Diversity Management Department of the Studies and Academic Services Department, the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Sciences (GGG), the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute, the Göttingen Centre for Gender Studies (GCG), the Gender Studies Coordination Office and various faculties.
Continuing Education for Teachers, Consultants and Supervisors
In close cooperation with the Section for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, the Equal Opportunities Office (Göttingen Campus QPLUS - project "Gender and Diversity in Teaching") designs diverse continuing education courses for teachers, advisors and those in supervisory positions. These are an integral part of the open workshops offered by the Section for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and can be included in the "Hochschuldidaktik" certificate.
Seminars for students
Since 2008, the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit has been cooperating with the Central Institute for Languages and Transferable Skills (ZESS) and has added seminars for students in the field of gender and diversity competence. This falls under the Göttingen Campus QPLUS project "Gender and Diversity in Teaching”. The courses can be taken as part of the "Diversity Competence" certificate. They are funded by means of the University Quality Funds (SQM).
Seminars for Teacher Training Students
In cooperation with the Central Institution for Teacher Training, the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit regularly introduces thematically changing diversity-based offers into the programme "LehramtPluS - professional teaching and school development". The offers can be included in the certificate "Diversity in teacher education". They are funded by means of the University Quality Funds (SQM).
Courses for doctoral students
Within the framework of their qualification programmes for doctoral students, graduate schools also offer courses that implicitly or explicitly contribute to the expansion of the diversity competence of doctoral students. These courses can be found online in the Qualification Portal for Doctoral Students.
Further training for employees (in cooperation with the Qualification Division)
The qualification programme of the Personnel Administration and Personnel Development Department also incorporates thematic suggestions from the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit. Diversity-oriented training courses are regularly offered there.
