How do life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias occur? Why are they so difficult to control? In answering these questions, the theory of dynamical systems plays a central role in integrating biological experiments with physical and mathematical developments. We seek to unravel the mechanisms and genetics of cardiac arrhythmias and develops novel approaches for their control.
